You will be picked up from your hotel in the Chiang Mai area and driven to the North of Chiang Mai, to an area called Mae Tang.  Here you will go white water rafting on a 10km stretch of the Mae Tang river on world class rapids. Before the rafting you will be treated to a local lunch before the transfer to the homestay village called Mae Kampong at the site of Flight of the Gibbon.  This serene village is over 100 years old with many old rustic houses and a small temple set among verdant forests at an altitude of 1,300m.  Dinner and breakfast is included during your stay at the homestay as well as a delightful 1 hour massage to relax the muscles after a day of rafting!  Please note that by the very nature of the homestay, the house will be a local resident’s house, with few modern conveniences, the stay will give you the chance to sample the local culture and enjoy the peace and quiet of Mae Kampong village.  A mattress, mosquito net and blanket will be provided.

Please prepare a towel, soap and sunscreen for the rafting trip, you also have the option of purchasing a CD of images of the trip.

Day 3 → Zipline Canopy Tour and return to Chiang Mai

7:45am -After a complimentary breakfast, our team will pick you up from the village house and escort you to the Flight of the Gibbon site.  If you prefer, you can also enjoy a walk through the village to the site.  The zipline canopy tour starts around 8am and will take between 2-3 hours to complete.   You are in for a treat as you will soar through the tree tops, have a chance of seeing and hearing the wild gibbons, test your nerves on our 800m zipline and abseil down huge trees!  After the zipline you will indulge in a fantastic lunch in our creekside restaurant, with delightful local music being played in the background by the village musicians.

After lunch you will be taken further up the valley to Mae Kampong Waterfall.  You will be escorted back to Chiang Mai at approximately 2pm.  Due to its high elevation (1,300m), it can be a little chilly at times, particularly early in the morning. We recommend you bring a jacket, sports shoes/trainers.   Mosquito spray can be very useful too.  There are facilities to store small bags and belongings on site and you can also purchase photos at an additional cost.

This should be relatively easy to find other adventurers, but it may mean we need to be a little flexible with our times and dates during the week.
